That was a close one.
I sure feel better now that we're at good ol Yellow again.
I was getting downright edgy and cranky up there at Orange.
Just for the hell of it, I went to the Department of Father...er...Homeland Security to see what I could quit doing now.
http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic/display?theme=29I found out there is no longer a "
high risk of terrorist attacks"
Now there's only a "
significant risk of terrorist attacks".
How "significant" I wonder? Just not high enough to still be "high", but STILL significant, nonetheless.
Here's what they say we should be doing:
"Increasing surveillance of critical locations;"
(If I KNEW what a 'critical location', was I'd sure be out there surveiling them. No hints of what they might be, though.)
"Coordinating emergency plans as appropriate with nearby jurisdictions;"
(I'm not sure if I HAVE a jurisdiction. I guess my house is in my jurisdiction. Should I call adjoing jurisdictions and coordinate something with them? If so, WHAT?)
"Assessing whether the precise characteristics of the threat require the further refinement of preplanned Protective Measures;"
(I'm at a complete loss on this one. I don't even know where to start.:-() and
"Implementing, as appropriate, contingency and emergency response plans."
(How do I tell what's 'appropriate' and what's 'inappropriate'? I'm willing to do my part. Can anyone help me out here? Thank you.)
