Poll question: How should I get out of seeing the 8th grade production of "Godspell"?
...not among my favorite musicals anyhow, goodness knows I could live a long time without seeing the local kids doing it. Mrs. Robb, of course, is friends with the teacher involved.

What's my best strategery? :silly:

2. Church of Elvis
Since Elvis never performed in Godspell no Elvist can go see it. Only shows in which the ultimate being once performed are holy and fit for mortal eyes.

Uh huh huh!

3. If you have to go
Have several "constitutionals" before going. No beer, it will make you want to pee too much. But four or five martinis will make the events much smoother. Trust me on this.

Also, bring a flask. Use it. Again, trust me.

9. I'm taking this advice, at least.
I'm thinking perhaps three martinis. And make her drive. ;)

4. Go...but use the fact that you did...
as ammuintion the next time you want to do something that Mrs. Robb doesn't want to do. ;-)

6. Best reeponse yet - great karma builder!
Go, for you will earn ammo for later.

And make sure, while you are there, that you are always visuibly suffering - not annoyingly, and don't disrupt those around you - but enough to let Mrs. Robb know that you are trying your best to enjoy it but just aren't and then she'll have geart compassion for you. But remember, it's a fine line between "I can't believe how disruptive you were at that show - I was never so embarassed. No sex for you for three years!" and "Oh, honey, I'm so sorry I made you sit through that. You're such a trooper for doing it, though, and I sure appreciate that stayed for the whole thing, horrible as it was for you. How can I make it up to you?"

5. Wear a heavy coat ...
have the Mrs. do the same. At the theatre, stack her coat and yours on top of you. Now put on the 'Tommy' CD (the original Who version) and enjoy the show.

possibly sit in one place that long.

10. Bomb threat?
I know it's extreme, but not more extreme than an 8th Grade productin of "Godspell".

'Fight fire with fire', I always say.

11. Definately Bomb Threat.
Or walk into the theatre with a mouth full of Mushroom soup, then projectile it across the aisle, breathe heavy, and excuse yourself. It worked for the Great Santini.
