Superman Returns 'Return to Krypton' scene concept art and photos (dial up warning)
I had a few request regarding where I found my pics but I didnt want to continue hijacking the Bosworth thread. It had already pretty much derailed to if the movie was good or not...

But here is the link to someone involed in the scene. There are MANY photos (links at the bottom of each page for high-res versions). Plus the concept art for the interior of the crystal ship. And a scene I did not know about where Superman visits his original ship when he arrived on earth. There are also pre vis pics of the Fortress of Solitude. Its an awesome site if you're in to that kind of thing.

To my knowledge there are no plans for an extended cut of Superman Returns with this footage. It is rumored that it is planned to be used in a later film. Fans are screaming for it.

Here are a few I love:

I saw some concept art from the new Star Wars movies and was so upset that we didn't see them in the final cut. Concept art is really cool and the Krypton scenes just blow me away! Imagine how this would have looked on the big screen.I hope they don't revisit this in a sequel. Been there, done that lets move on. A special edition of "Superman Returns" or a extended cut dvd , now thats another story! Thanks again for posting this!!!

8. I would hope they could explain
in a special edition version of SUPERMAN RETURNS how Superman makes the ship he comes back to earth on and how he got to Krypton. I have the movie novel but haven't read it so maybe they explain in the novel.Maybe theycut this out because they felt they had a lot of explaining to do. I know the theatrical version of SUPERMAN:THE MOVIE was different than the version on tv and now we have the complete version on dvd. Funny how just adding or cutting like 15 seconds can make or break a film.

9. I think they cut it due to lenght of the film and Singer felt it slowed the pace.

He's been quoted as saying he wanted to get to Metropolis as quickly as possible. And I believe he has said there will not be a special edition, with the exception of a re-release in IMAX theaters only.

I believe the scene is intact in the novel, so I'm sure that will answer some of your questions.
