I got my tax return.
That's all. Just happy about it. They didn't lie when they said 8 days if you file online.

1. I was pleasantly
surprised too! I love e-filing. Fast and (somewhat) painless.

2. I always file way early
because I always get a return, so I want it asap ;) But that usually speeds things up. Wait, and it's in with the crush of a million others. :)

7. Yes, I always
file early too. And doing it on-line has made it so much easier, and faster too! Which makes me happy!

6. AirmensMom!
Glad to see you! Yes, I did get a few bucks back.

I'm home today. Wimped out about driving to work. Weather prophets are predicting crappy weather again. And actually I did start out to work, with the intention of monitoring the weather and leaving early. But the roads were icy and snow covered and I just couldn't see myself driving in that crap again in just a few hours, so I turned around and went home. And actually, it's snowing now again, so it's hitting sooner than anticipated.

Anyway, as you can see, I'm working from home.

:hi: :loveya:

10. SF! You're here!
:bounce:

I always smile at your smileys! That looks like more than a few bucks!

Better safe than sorry. It's just not worth it to risk driving in that stuff. I'm the queen of wimps when it comes to winter driving.

Are you working hard or hardly working ... from home, that is?

:hi: :loveya:

12. Oh yeah!
Now I'm loaded.

Hey, I'm working, and working hard! I'm drafting letters right now. All the words are in my head. Hopefully they'll escape through fingers soon!

4. That's great!
I'm putting it off because I have to pay ... lost my mortgage interest deduction and put the proceeds from selling the house into savings. Now the IRS wants most of the interest I earned. x(

5. That sucks
You don't get property tax credits? Do you guys pay property tax? (forgive me I'm in Canada)

When did you sell your house?

8. Yes.
We had to pay for the full year on our undeveloped land ... a grand total of $138. And if I look at my closing statements, we might have paid some on the house. That's one thing I haven't checked on. We sold it on June 2.

One thing that might help is that we can deduct sales tax on building materials, as well as the cost of energy saving materials (or some kind of wording like that), so we might be able to claim the cost of the windows in the new house. We'll still end up paying, but maybe not as much. It really sucks.

17. Got both my federal and state refunds yesterday.
Of course, I filed paperwork. No e-file for me.

The processing took five weeks, but at least the government doesn't have my info on electronic record.

20. They didn't lie because george bush doesn't directly run the IRS.
If he did, you'd only get your tax return if you were white and in the top 1%.
