Whatever happened to The Magistrate??? I miss that guy. I wish he was

still around. He could, and often did, interject intelligence into some of the most inane threads. I think his was a voice of reason and intellect. I really loved his posts.

Seems to me that more than a few of my favorite posters are gone.

2. I had a PM from The Magistrate on Dec. 26.

There was a get-together here that night for flush_bush. The Magistrate had planned to come, but had had the flu and so had to cancel. But he sounded like himself. Perhaps he has been busy with the holidays and work, like the rest of us.

I liked his posts as well.

There are actually a fair number of members, most of whom I rarely agreed with but still enjoyed reading their commentary and opinion, that I would like to see posting again (or more).

A couple that go way back were Absynthe and Coralsea.

Also, would be good to see more posts from folks like IrateCitizen who always has a very interesting perspective and writes very well.

It really is just amazing when one considers how many talented, thought provoking, insightful and intelligent people are here on DU. It really is a great part of my day logging in and following the days events. I always learn something or gain some different perspective on some issue. I would be willing to bet that quite a few DUers will wind up making a big impact in politics and on the world in general.

I like him a lot too although he used to really piss me off because he always addresses people as "sir" which can come off very condescending.

10. I've met The Magistrate.

He is waaaay laid back, not at all how I had pictured -- which was a guy in a black robe looking very magisterial, of course. Nice guy.
