I think this guy just called me a bitch...
I think it was for not saying "hi".

I walked out of the restroom and as usual had my head down. He said something but to me it sounded like "ow" and he did appear to be rubbing his knee. Just before I walk back into my office, I hear very clearly behind me, "Bitch."

Ugh.

When I say hi and someone doesn't say hi back, I always assume they didn't hear me. I mean I do wonder sometimes if they just ignored me but I always assume the best... cause really, who needs extra bad feelings?

Just ugh.

:(

It opens in, you nerd.

3. Um, I don't know, but that sounds dirty.
Sometimes I say, "Bitch!" if I run into something. Sort of a shortened form of "Son of a bitch!" It might not have been directed at you.

4. That's my thought, too.
Either way, who cares? Bigger things to furrow your precious brow than some idiot who can't walk without banging his knee into stuff.

5. It was a little bit later...
he was down the hall a ways by the time he said "bitch". And it wasn't in that Sonofabithch! or Fuckinhell! way... it was low in tone, but not whispered or mumbled.

9. Is he a co-worker? Document document document.
Edited on Thu Feb-22-07 02:54 PM by raccoon
When it happened, date and time, where, circumstances, etc.

This is clearly harassment.

p.s. And keep your documentation somewhere OUT of your workplace.

8. Maybe he was thinking of his wife and talking to himself

If he was talking to you (or at you, rather), I wish him a day filled with barking his shins and banging his knees against every conceivable obstacle in the city... :grr:

10. Don't you love the logic?
A person gets irritated because they see you as not being polite so they call you "bitch." By golly, that will teach you to be polite!

People are just plain wierd.

Or, perhaps he's just a douchebag.

13. Confront him...
"Look; I was just leaving the bathroom and I thought you said something like "ow!". Then I heard you say a curse word. Were you talking to me?"

Simple, quick, embarassing; effective.
And over with.

16. Don't be.
Edited on Thu Feb-22-07 03:28 PM by lildreamer316
Take your ovaries in hand and just get it over with. If he didn't say that to you he will explain, and if he did he will be well put in his place in a resonable manner. I know it can be intimidating; but then he will be more likely to respect you from now on-as will anyone else who hears you.
I got faith in ya.....

No reason to be too abrupt; just direct "Excuse me..." and make sure you have his full FULL attention. Look him straight in the eyes.

I haven't seen him before... he works down the hall or maybe he's just visiting... maybe he's just having a bad day... or maybe his cell phone is on vibrate and his ex-gf called. :7

If it's too much to do right now I understand. But if this is something that is going to bother you well into the evening you should go ahead and get it off your chest.
Only you know how strongly you feel.

27. In my younger days... I might have...
I still do stuff like that if I see a parent being overly rough with their kids... but I was really just too shocked to do anything... and plus I was already halfway inside my own office door... if I see him again I might ask about it.
