He killed two of 'em in one night...ha ha ha ha
This is a quote from a relative who visited tonight. She just got her RN, and she was talking about a coworker at the hospital she works at. Christ alive, the last place I want to go if I get sick is a hospital. He recently got in trouble because at shift change one of his patients was found to be in rigor mortis, and he had charted that patient a couple hours earlier as being fine. I know I am going to have bad dreams about this tonight. Btw, the other one he OD'd apparently. And there was a third the next night.

:scared:

1. Fucking Report It
get his name and license type etc

sounds like sociopaths

hospitals don't like sociopathic RN's working for them despite the shortage of nurses, risk management is bad enough in a hospital, people die way too often from other causes than someone intentionally trying to kill them.

I'm serious, this kind of thing should be reported to his employer.

It should at least warrant an investigation.

:hi:

2. thanks, that was my take
like, um, this isn't funny?

My maternal grandmother was killed by a nurses mistake and I never knew her because of it. They found out years later. Apparently nurses know alot of this behind the scenes stuff. My mother went through a childhood of hell because of that. My relative just got her diploma a few months ago and she has told them about the way this nurse treated her, as far as being reluctant to train them. Apparently it is really bad at that hospital where she is. She just got offered a job at a mental health place for like $30/hour, so I think she is leaving that job. The thing is, the employer apparently knows about this, at least the patient with rigor mortis. And the OD. It was Narcan. I don't know much about it, but she seemed pretty certain he was OD'd. The guy went into DT's or seizures or something. There but for the grace of God...

4. I've Been In It For 20 years
and I've never heard anything like this either

sociopaths it sounds like to me

I mean people make mistakes, but not to go and brag about it.

a plaintiff's lawyer's dream is that, to find a stupid enough person to be "bragging" about making a med error, or even bragging that it wasn't an error.

unbelievable

5. I don't think she was bragging
It was very uneasy laughter. I think she is overwhelmed on her new job and isn't getting proper training. I see what you are saying though. She is getting the hell out of there. You are so right about the legal thing though.
