Teacher Blames Indecent Exposure On 'Defective Pants'
<snip>

Shelbyville -- A Shelbyville Middle School teacher has been suspended from teaching after being issued a citation alleging indecent exposure, according to a Shelby County sheriff's report.

Thomas L. Piles, 53, Fishers, was suspended Monday after an incident reported along I-74 near the 109-mile marker.

An Anderson man told police a sport utility vehicle driven by a man passed beside his vehicle on the interstate and he saw that the driver was exposed, according to a report by Deputy Michael A. Cleveland.

The complainant gave police a license plate number and description of the SUV.
Shelbyville police Sgt. Doug Hasecuster stopped Piles' Ford Explorer in the city at Harrison and Franklin streets.

Piles was "extremely nervous and was noticeably shaking," the report said.
Cleveland said Piles' pants were unzipped, according to the report.

Piles explained that "these pants always do that," the report said.
Cleveland issued Piles a citation for indecent exposure.

A deputy notified the Shelbyville Central Schools superintendent about the citation. Piles had reported the situation to the middle school's principal, according to the report.

School officials told Cleveland that Piles' suspension was pending further investigation, the report said.

8. Yes, they DO marry their cousins in Shelbyville...

'cause they're so darn attractive!

They are also some of the worst drivers in the state. I worked in Shelbyville at one time. One day a local ran a light and totaled my car. THE NEXT DAY I was driving a rental when a local ran a light and totaled it as well.

5. He could have put his coat over his lap.
On the one hand, it's reasonable to think no one could see that far down into your car.

On the other, why did he keep wearing those malfunctioning pants? did this "malfunction" happen at school?

the name for the practice of driving around with pants pulled down or none at all.

Apparently it is a "thing"
