What albums do you want to buy this year, if any?
As you know, music for me is not just enjoyable. It's a hobby and something I collect. I like a lot of different styles, and am constantly seeking out great new talent, so here's a list of albums I've put on my wish list:

Brandi Carlile - Story
Magnetic Fields - The Wayward Bus/Distant Plastic Trees (sounds like it gets messy a couple times with the sound effects, but generally gorgeous music)
Peter Bjorn & John - Writer's Block
Mandy Moore - Wild Honey (some collaborations with the Weepies, who made one of the best albums last year)
Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing
The new Brie Larson CD
The Pierces - Thirteen Tales of Love & Revenge (they really went in left-field on this CD, but it still sounds good. Overall, I'm not sure I'll like it as much as their other CD, but it's cool music)
Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
Dean & Britta - Back Numbers
Adrienne Pierce - Faultline
Elisabeth Ames & Countrypolitans - Anytime
Julia Othmer - Oasis Motel
Jesse Malin - Glitter in the Gutter
Maria Taylor - Lynn Teeter Flower
Deerhoof - Friend Opportunity
Mary Chapin Carpenter - The Calling
David & The Citizens - Until the Sadness Is Gone
Patty Griffin - Children Running Through
Jill Cunniff - City Beach
Upcoming R.E.M. CD

And more..

I also have to catch up on some 2006 and earlier stuff.

1. BTW
Next survey I do will be around the half-way point of the year when we start to list our favorites from the year.

But this topic isn't limited to 2007. For space's sake, I kept mine to 2007.

2. No idea
I just heard that Fear Factory has a new cd out, from last year, or the year before...man, I'm so far behind the times...:( From your list though, I'd look forward to the upcoming REM cd...

4. You might like some of the ones I listed
A couple are from before 2007, but most aren't. I might add some more albums if the topic comes up elsewhere. :hi:

6. My collection is so big that I'm having storage problems
I'm still low on money, but I'm thinking when I have my next spending spree, I'll buy half of the albums on iTunes. Any ideas for storage?

Night, petersond! :hi:

7. I use the case logic
folders...just the cd, and the booklet. I use to use the case logics, for the whole cd jewel case, but each case would only hold 60, and would take up so much room. I use to travel a lot, so switched to the folders, and dumped the jewel cases...and even then, its tedious...

I have all my music on my back up harddrive, and it is so MUCH easier to bring up music that way, than digging through cases....if you have a back up harddrive, or external...hit me up via pm, and I'll gladly donate my whole collection to ya....:D

It could be better than buying new shelves, like I've been doing.

I don't want to forget to mention Whitney Steele's CD, scheduled for March. I'm also considering Fall Out Boy's latest and Bloc Party's, among others. I still might buy Lucinda Williams's West, but from what I've heard, I'd give it a B-. Unheard of for her.

8. Quite a few.
But I'm planning on going to more concerts this year, so fewer CDs for me.

So far I want:

Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos
Porcupine Tree - Fear of A Blank Planet
Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
New Primus (I've heard a new album is a possibility)
New Opeth
New Gnarls Barkley
New Depeche Mode
New Radiohead

15. They played 10 new songs on their last tour.
I think that's a pretty good indication that a new album is being close to finished!

new albums from Massive Attack, Radiohead, Recoil (Recoil is Alan Wilder, ex-Depeche Mode), Grinderman (Nick Cave side project; Myspace page here), the new Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds album, if it's released this year (supposed to be recorded this summer), and Nine Inch Nails...and there are probably others I'm not aware of or haven't discovered yet.
