Photos of people passing through subway turnstiles

http://www.3situations.com/BillSullivanWorks/MT4.html

Via the Presurfer:
"Photographer Bill Sullivan developed a situation so that various subjects could be defined by the constraints of exactly the same mechanical apparatus.

The scenario consisted of someone passing through a subway turnstile. At the moment that the subjects passed through the turnstile, unknown to them, Sullivan took their picture stationed at a distance of eleven feet."

6. Everyone looks trapped. Is the question, perhaps, the way we allow technology to trap us?
What would these same people look like if walking between two trees in nature versus two metal sides in an unnatural setting?

Interesting.

7. You know what? I K&R this. I love analyzing art, be it film, paintings or photography.
I particularly like analyzing the way in which people react to their surroundings. It makes for an interesting debate in how we effect our world and the way in which our world effects us... and, when we manipulate our world, how do we react to that?

Thanks, again, for the interesting artistic perspective. I dig this kind of thing on a Thursday afternoon!
