$25,000 Dinner Gets Rave Reviews

BANGKOK, Thailand -- High-rolling food lovers from around the world are raving about their truly unique dining experience Saturday evening at a rooftop restaurant on the 65th floor of a luxury hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

Grandly titled "Epicurean Masters of the World," the 40-seat dinner was prepared by six three-star Michelin chefs, four from France and one each from Italy and Germany.

Many diners had trouble finishing the 10-course gourmet dinner, even at $25,000 a head. But, as one Shanghai-based businessman put it, "The whole thing is an experience. It's priceless."

The menu featured such delicacies as Perigord truffles -- three-and-a-half ounces per diner at $350 an ounce. Along with that, there was tartare of Kobe beef with Imperial Beluga caviar, foie gras, oysters, live Brittany lobsters from France, Jerusalem artichokes, and white truffles from Rome. The entrees were paired with a rare and robust vintage wine.

And of course, there was plenty of bubbly to wash it all down. The cheapest bottle goes for $500.
