1. Jan Morris...
nee John Morris, is a fantastic writer. Was the first to report back from Everest that Hillary had reached the summit. Wrote a fantastic book on post-war Manhattan. Just a GREAT writer.

I just noticed I wrote John instead of James. Too late to edit... oh well.

I've also noticed that in her recent books she calls herself Trefan Morys. Must be a welsh thing.

I wouldn't call her confused, though. I've known a few transsexuals who genuinely were confused, but I think Jan was pretty sure about what she wanted. It didn't seem to slow down her career at all. I'd actually love to read a good memoir from her about how her transsexuality affected her career.

Just that as married man, James might have been a little confused. I guess he she finally figured it out.
