The cat does not love you
He purrs that way when he rubs up against the furniture. I feed him so he tolerates me. But there is only treachery in his heart.

15. I know that my cats need me...
And they like to hang out with me. But love? I don't think so, and I don't require it. I love them enough so that doesn't matter.

5. Our cat doesn't love me anymore because our 8 month old got ahold of his
tail this morning. I am proud of him. He gave a subtle warning of only showing his teeth. He didn't hiss or anything else. I think he knows he would never see the inside of our house again...

7. (tail pulling)
NOT that your falla hardly bothered the cat, or Ever would be the sort to hurt an animal!! I'll tell this story for posterity though.
My mom runs an Inn in the mountains and some distant cousins of mine went for a free stay, and two of their sons were playing in the yard and got hold of my Mom's cat and pulled his tail so hard his back almost broke, he couldn't walk or use his back legs for months. Now he still has a funny sprawl but he seems okay otherwise, it doesn't hurt him to be picked up anymore, not that we can tell, cats can't say when they're in pain. And this of course cost thousands in vet bills.
So, that's my tail-pulling story, I like everyone with cats to know it.
8-month olds are no danger though I think!

As for MY cats' loving, I am their whole life, I just know they have LOVE for me!

10. Oh my! That sounds terrible.
No, my little one only grabbed his tail to put it in his mouth. Mommy got said tail out of my little guy's hands before that could happen.

We're at the stage when everything goes in our mouth. Oh joy. Our dog has just given in and let's Carter do it.

8. My cat Milla is there!
It takes a minute to find her, you have to look through all the M's I think. But she's there, Milla, and she Hates You.
She didn't make it into the calender or the book though.

Why else would they follow me from room to room? They have plenty of food, water and a clean litter box...but they still prefer to be in the same room with me. :loveya:

They like to be in the same room as me. They rub up against me, butt their heads against me. One even tries to comfort me if I cry.

Because even if you run out of food, they won't, if you get my drift.

27. The other day I heard a terrible ruckus
Cat squalling like never before. I run to the front of the house and one of my kitties has gotten a claw stuck in the wall heater. Poor thing is bouncing every which way in panic.

What are my other darling cats doing while their sibling is in trouble? They're attacking him of course. Bap! Bap! Swipe!

I freed the tangled feline. He's okay. No harm.

Still can't get the image of the other cats ganging up on him out of my mind.

Cats are mean.

28. Well it's not love
It's a fur kind of love, acceptance of you as one of THEM. They don't think they are human, they think you are a large cat like creature. My cat does purr when I rub him in his sleep and when he's awake. It's not love, it's some inter-species connection. For us, it's emotional, for them it's purring and drooling.

Also, just like humans, cats are all different in different way. The other cat we have is my husband's from way back before we met. She will, I kid you not, prefer the petting to the fresh TUNA in her bowl. She's skinny and never been into food he tells me. She also meows constantly. The other one was adopted as a skinny stray and is now fat. He never meows unless is bowl is empty or you step on his tail. That makes sense I guess if you were homeless all your life, food would be a big priority. And he's quiet and placid because my husband tells me-he's a boy. The girl cat is always talking!
