Part of my duty was digging up the information--fascinating, useless and otherwise--that helped define our graduation year. One of the interesting lists I put together was the celebrities born the year my classmates and I left school:

I recognize a few of the names (I know Orlando Bloom is famous, but I don't know what for). I've got Ashton Kutcher, and Sarah Michelle Gellar, whose names I hear, but again, I wouldn't recognize them if they knocked on my door (seriously. I think they're actors, rather than musicians or atheletes, but I don't know if they're black, white, short, or tall, pretty or plain).

There are just too many famous and semi-famous people these days. How did so many people get to be in the spotlight?
