It occurs to me that we're all potential characters for someone's novel.

I'm hanging out with too many authors these days and starting to feel being scoped out as a character for one of their books. In a sense, each of us is a character in someone's novel somewhere, published or not. What a head trip.

1. I was on a plane to ABQ with my family a few years ago ...

... and when I looked around I kind of wondered what brought everyone else to that place at that time. It occurred to me that they were all extras in the performance that is my family's life.

I don't have that sort of attitude, but it seemed like an interesting thought at the time. I was especially confused a week later when another family from the first flight returned on our return flight.

interesting for me to use exclusively in my history books so I utilize them in fiction. And novels based on events and people one knows tend to be fascinating since they are formula productions as, for instance, so much of contemporary fantasy fiction etc.
