What I'm eating tonight
Edited on Mon Jan-05-04 08:08 PM by Pobeka
Alfredo sauce
---------------

1 cup shreaded parmesian
1/4 cup shreaded romano
2/3 cup cream

4 tbsp butter.
2 heads garlic, pureed

Melt butter on med heat, add garlic. Grind some fresh pepper in there too.

After 3 minutes or so, add the cream. bring to soft boil. Dump in the cheese.

Serve over pasta. This is incredibly potent stuff, you don't need much on each serving. This makes 6-8 servings.

2. Yes, it's painfully easy to make. And absolutely delicious.
I go to melt butter right now...

5. Cool. A chef told me to find some white truffle olive oil to add to it
but I have never found a bottle of white truffle olive oil

8. Do you have a Trader Joe's near you?

They carry a very nice white truffle oil for $8.99 (which is considerably less than you'll find it in a gourmet store).

I looooove TJs...they also carry high-quality vanilla beans cheaper than I've ever seen anywhere else. I make a killer creme brulee, and you've GOTTA have vanilla bean if you're going to do it right. Two lovely beans in an airtight glass jar for $3.79 at TJs...$10 and up anywhere else.

Okay, that's all for tonight's free TJs advertisements! :P

on edit: go VERY lightly with the truffle oil--just the tiniest of drizzles. It's potent (but tasty) stuff, and it's easy to over-do.

9. I looked at TJ's and could not find it.
But it was busy, and I was in a rush, so I didn't have time to ask for help.

I'll go look again, and ask.
