Man Tasers wife's grandmother in spanking dispute
Man, I'll bet these people are in for an awkward counseling session!

Man Tasers wife's grandmother in spanking dispute
Associated Press - Jan. 26, 2007 05:14 PM

VANCOUVER, Wash. - A man who said he used a stun gun on his wife's 79-year-old grandmother was arrested for investigation of domestic assault.

Aaron de Bruyn, 26, was cited with fourth-degree domestic violence assault Wednesday and released from the Skamania County jail Thursday, Police Chief Calvin Owens said. The grandmother wasn't injured.

De Bruyn said he was arguing with Rosemary Garlock, who accused him of abusing his 7-month-old son when he swatted the boy's diapered bottom to stop him from grabbing electrical wires.

When she refused to leave, he said he shocked her on her right shoulder as she sat on the living room couch.

“She yelped, because getting Tased hurts,” de Bruyn told The Columbian newspaper.

2. Stupidity on both sides.
What, the grandmother would rather he let his kid get shocked?

And no petty dispute should be reason to tase a 79-year-old

3. Call me a thug but,
I slapped my 2yr old daughter's little hand red when I caught her trying to stick a bobby pin into an electrical outlet. We were at a friends house. I took a lot of crap in the early 80's for never spanking or slapping my kids but first rule of parenthood IMHO is keep them alive. On the other hand, tasering Grandma should result in some jail time. That's creepy.

Spanking is evil and child abusers are troglodytes.

11. I wouldn't be surprised if the people in the story are GD posters...
Anyone that feels this strongly about spanking has probably taken a turn or two through the Great Spanking Flamewars...

8. A 7 month old?
Why wasn't the house baby-proofed to keep him away from the wires?

Sounds like the dad is an asshole. :eyes:

9. If that's your attitude, lady, then I'm gonna have to Tase you!
That's me on the left dispensing Jesus-justice and that's you, Goddess, the furry balding dude on the right, learning not to argue with a friend of the Lord when he's exercising his 2nd Amendment rights. So NOW who's won the argument, huh?

Just another li'l reminder that a well armed society is a polite society. Why, I'll bet if they'd had bazookas in the 1790s, they'd've included them in the Bill of Rights, too!

13. I don't agree with spanking children, but frankly,
my mother is 82 and there are times I would like to taser her! So don't be too hard on Dad!

15. tasing old people is wrong!
sure we'd all love to go around casually tasing anyone that disagrees with us, but when it comes to seniors, or anyone with a history of heart problems, caring and responsible folks should reach for the pepper spray.
