Poll question: Who is upgrading to Windows Vista?
I am considering it. I am curious if others are going to do it right away, wait or not even thinking about it.

P.s.- If you are going to upgrade, check out this site for cheaper pricing than Best buy or compusa. http://www.pricewatch.com/m-182.htm

1. Nothing in it for me.
I bought an OEM version of 2k years ago when my wife built my computer. As long as it works, I'll go on using it. Vista will not run software any more efficiently, as far as I can tell.

2. Actually, it will run a lot of software much less efficiently, due to all the DRM
additions.

4. Well, to be fair, it was only addressed to those that were "upgrading" You don't

upgrade from Linux to Windows.

Edit: That isn't necessarily anti-Windows, for you Windows-lovers, even though I don't like Windows. It's just a matter of semantics.

5. If I just want pretty, I can always go to SuSE Linux and the XGL desktop.
I've played with Vista a few times and I am......underwhelmed.

I'll stick with XP for the time being. Vista offers nothing to me.

6. I don't think Vista will run on my PowerPC-based Mac
and my Windows box is underpowered for Vista.

12. If your already have a Mac your OS is already better.

Vista is a crappy clone of OS X, it needs an obscenely high spec machine to run on with a ridiculous video card if you want DirectX 10 for games.

That is just to run the operating system, wait until you start running applications on your machine as well.

Microsoft have pushed back the boundaries of bloatware yet again. Their monopoly will ensure everybody will have to upgrade their machines' hardware and payout all over again for new software.

Bill Gates is set to get even richer selling his second rate crap.

8. Their trail isn't worth blazing.
They'd just take everybody else's signs, not bother to even repaint them, and still claim they made them.

10. Not me
My XP OEM install is doing a half-arsed job which is OK for me at the moment. Like others have mentioned above, my next move will be to a Linux install (whenever that will be).

18. I just switched to XP a month ago.
And the only reason is because 2000 Pro won't run under Boot Camp. I don't see myself switching to Vista anytime soon.
