3. I say "landline" or "POTS line" at work all the time
to refer to analog phone lines.

I guess I'm doubly guilty. I'm in management. We're always to blame.

8. Yes
And I also say snailmail, and think they're pretty similar language evolution.

Otherwise you just have to say so many extra words: "Please call me at my home number. I mean the number actually at my house, not the one I carry in my pocket that isn't connected to the house...even though I have it with me when I'm at the house. Just call me at the one jacked into the wall...oh, dear god, just call my damn landline!!!" :D

9. I don't have a hardwired one, but my cellular is home 98% of the time. I never
use it, but I have to have a number, so I just use Tracfone.

10. I am having a big argument with a friend about whether ornot the word
is in common usage now. I suspect he won't buy this poll, though, on the grounds that the average DUer is more techsavvy than most.

I should see what my mom says.

14. Lol
Well, if it helps, everyone I know in San Francisco uses the term, but again...you run into that more tech-savvy thing here. ;)

11. I did
About 25 years ago, when I was a CBer.

I would've thought it'd go the way of all that "Ten-four, good buddy" crap.
