people whining about ignore feature
who put others on ignore for no apparent f'ing reason that I can think of. . .

:wtf:

I don't have anyone on ignore. Only put one person on for a couple of weeks some time ago as they seemed to be following me around just to make disparaging statements about any & everything I said.

and it wasn't the one currently whining, either.

1. i love the person who calls people cowards for putting people on ignore
as though it take so much fucking courage to argue on a internet board...

spare me the false outrage...

2. yeah, especially when
they put people on ignore so they can't even ask what the heck is going on!

I don't think it's courage they're lacking . . .

3. Well, it is true that I have seen, especially in the sub-forums,
people "blocking" other people from their threads because of their ideological views ....that's pretty cowardly... getting away from someone who is stalker-riffic is one thing, but silencing dissent is another.... it's hard to tell the difference, of course, from the outside...

4. i think sometimes its best even to ignore people based on ideological differfences
i think that why we are on DU and not on a mixed conservative-liberal board.

ofcourse i think your experience on DU would be kinda weird with 50 people on ignore

5. What's the point of being here then?
In the primary discussion I have seen somebody blocked from posting in threads simply because they consistently posted a dissenting opinion on one candidate. Not in a rude way, not in a mean way, always with thoughtful words and reasons, and yet this other person blocked them. When that's done, it looks to me as if the blocker is simply somebody who wants to produce cheerleading threads and can't tolerate even polite dissension. That's what I call cowardly.
