She kicks ass. Very sultry. She really helped that show out. Unlike the little sister, whom I loathted. I was so mad when they brought her on there, it was such a gimmick the 'twins' thing or whatever.

There is a really good fight scene in a movie with Sharon Stone in it that I can't remember. I don't know why I want to watch this stuff tonight but I do. I told myself I was going to bed at 3:00 and I'm still up, lol

I'm watching my DVD's

39. I've seen that one on youtube
I don't know why but I thought she fought another female in that film, I guess not. There is a clip of that on youtube but the person who made it looped it so that he gets kicked in the groin over and over and over, which is painful for even me to watch. Well, on second thought, since he's a repuke:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_-DgEbqiQ0

this hurts me, lol.

...not really, but the treetop battle between Li Mu and Jen Yu in Crouching Tiger is gorgeous. I also dig the amazing Shaolin Challenges Ninja. The most surprising aspect of the latter movie is that (sorry for the potential spoiler) no one dies, despite the near-constant fighting.

31. I don't watch them either, unless they are comedies like Jackie Chan
It's all about context, or subtext, like in the Alias final battle where you know the characters and understand that if Sydney doesn't kill the evil Allison whose DNA has been altered to make her identical to Syd's dead roomate Franzi, that Allison will kill Syd. It's harder for me to get into the films that are just fighting for the sake of it, that's why I put 'fight scenes' that are martial arts based although the purists might find them lacking. I always loved to watch Buffy for the fight scenes, especially since the villians in that show were alwasy so bizarre and twisted.

I thought there was a female vs. female scene from Total Recall with Sharon Stone but I can't find it...maybe I just imagined it.

32. Here's a list of some of my favorites:
Edited on Sat Jan-20-07 03:22 PM by TroubleMan
http://www.kungfucinema.com/reviews/drunkenmaster2.htm
All of the fights in Drunken Master II. The last fight scene is a string of fight scenes that's a good 30 minutes long. It is the best fight scene EVER done. The very last part of the fight scene has to been seen to be believed - but you need to watch the rest of the movie to fully set it up properly. The restaurant fight scene is incredible, too. Don't watch them on youtube or dailymotion because the clips on there don't have the subtitles - it's really funny what Jackie Chan is saying when he calls out the names of the moves he's doing. This might be the best Kung Fu movie ever made - the story is great, the acting is really good (all top notch actors), and it has the best fight scene of all time, another which is in the top 10, and another which would be top 20.

http://www.kungfucinema.com/reviews/taichimaster.htm
There are 3 or 4 incredible fight scenes in Tai Chi Master (aka Twin Warriors). It's hard to pick a favorite, but this movie is another movie that has great acting and a great story to go along with incredible fight scenes.

http://www.kungfucinema.com/reviews/shaolindrunkard.htm
This movie has a bunch of different names: Shaolin Drunkard, Shaolin Drunkards, Wu Tang Drunkard, and Wu-Tang Master. This seriously is one of the funnies movies ever. The final fight scene is one of the funniest things I've ever scene in my life, and it's incredible choreography. If I try to explain it - it won't make any sense...you have to see it.

Also check out Project A and Armour of God II: Operation Condor - both by Jackie Chan.

There's a bunch of others I could recommend, but I'm sure that's enough for now.

Not just the best girl fight. This is televised dramatic hand-to-hand combat at its very best.

Thanks for posting that. Alias was such a great show in its day. The coolest thing about this fight scene is that if you watched the show, you knew it eventually HAD to happen. When it did, you weren't disappointed.

41. I think so
one think I really like about it is how tired they get, and when they start slipping at the end it is really obvious that they are winded. I never can tell what it is Syd uses to get Franzie with at the end, I think it's glass, before she shoots her. What I love about it is that it is so imperfect, and it's to the death, and you've been following the characters so long that like you said, it was inevitable. I really hated to see Merrin Dungey go, though...Abrams is pretty cold-hearted about his series, he doesn't think twice about sacrificing a central character for the plot. By about season three I had stockholm syndrom from being jerked around so much.

I'm really, really surprised that there are not more youtube vids of the fight scenes from that show. There are tons of her and Vaughn, and her different personas (and outfits), but someone needs to do videos of ALL the fight scenes, from start to finish for each season. She has some great ones with Anna Espinoza but I haven't found but one clip of them on youtube.

59. Way, WAY too many to mention

But some that stand out in my recent memory as more realistic examples of martial prowess were the fight scenes in the two Bourne movies that stared Matt Damon. The training for them was Filipino kali/escrima, but the concepts and techniques are common to other Asian martial arts. Very economical, non-showy, quick, brief, and do-able hand-to-hand combat.

Hi... :hi:
