Anyone catch My Name is Earl last night?

Football, the holidays and now Pac-10 basketball has been seriously interfering with my normal viewing habits. But I'm glad I caught it last night.

The supposed lonely dude for whom Earl is trying to arrange a funeral...


"The guy didn’t know anybody! How the hell do you go through life and not connect with anybody?"

Earl bumps the mouse on the guy's computer and the screen saver goes away and IM's start popping up like crazy and that's when they found out that Josh had a whole world of friends they'd overlooked.

"They were just inside that box hiding behind the fish."

Turns out he played poker with guys all over the world. He also played medieval music with a girl Colby, Kansas. He enjoyed arguing about television shows in online forums. Friday night he had dinner with a friend he met online from India. And every weekend he played war games with guy named Sharpshooter.

"We spent the whole day telling people about Josh dying. And then something unexpected happened. All the people within driving distance wanted to get together and remember him."

Actually a fairly touching episode.

1. I wish I had watched it. I've never seen it because I didn't have any network affiliates

on my dish service for about five years. I'll probably have to catch it on DVD.

I was thinking about this recently. If I died, probably no one on DU would ever find out about it. I don't interact with anyone here in real life, so I don't really know how anyone would find out about it.
