What a long, strange trip it's been...

1. In case you're wondering, 13 shows for me.

including the '88 show at U. of New Orleans Lakefront Arena, after which we tie-dyed types took over Bourbon St.! (don't know if anyone was "set up like a bowlin' pin" :-) )

2. 65 shows for me...used to plan my vacations

around the Dead....August 1995 came as quite a shock to me that is for sure.

Saw them in Chicago, Noblesville IN, Philly, Pittsburgh, Louisville KY, St Louis, Oakland, Cleveland and Bonner Springs KS.

5. Lots of familiar venues

Especially latter years in midwest, i.e. Bonner, St. Louis, and Finley, and Deer Creek. I freaked at the creek for I guess 8-10 shows.

Were you at the "deck collapse" show in St. Louis? Unfortunately, my last one; had to cancel Memphis in spring of '95 and had too much going on in the summer to shake free.

6. I had just visited the campground in

Wentzville MO that afternoon. The storm, from which people were escaping and which caused the deck collapse, came up real quick and was not expected. Those were my last shows. I was dog and house sitting for a professor couple who had taken a trip up to Nova Scotia. Their SUV broke down and were gone longer than they expected so I was unable to go to Soldier Field. Oh well. I have part of the last show on a hard drive. I think I may have gotten it from some concert video sharing website.

7. I was there the next night

That was a helluva show. Jerry had me crying with Stella Blue. I think he knew he was done.

My favorite was three nights at Long Beach during the late 80's
