The sirens.

It's better when they go on by.

I know there's something bad where they're going.

My heart stops when the sirens stop so close.

Are the coming here?

And the helicopter hovering.

Something bad. Near.

I'd rather sleep.

Oh yes, sweetie, it does happen here.....

I always think paramedics when I hear sirens.......

And since I'm now a retired nurse, I just wonder.......

Who's ill, or dying, or hurt?

It doesn't scare me...

I know that some sweet day, my physical life will end........

I hope my soul will go on ...

And death will come for all of us........

I'm not ready for it yet......

But someday I will be!

3. I went to Catholic school, and every time there was a siren

we all had to stop what we were doing and say a prayer for whoever the siren was for. I still do that. It makes me feel useful.
