I am comfortable enough with my masculinity to say that I cried. Yep. I cried. Jennifer Hudson is a sensation. A performance for the ages.

1. My mom saw it yesterday afternoon

and it said was amazing. She said it's 100 times better than Chicago and needs to win the Best Picture Oscar.

She said Hudson and Murphy will be robbed if they don't win Oscars as well...of course, she hasn't seen anything else this year besides Devil Wears Prada but Dreamgirls is getting lots of buzz and three Golden Globes last night.

I have never been rocked like that by a movie. Never.

3. saw it on xmas day

and i saw the show on Broadway nearly 24 years ago with Jennifer Holliday in the role of Effie. No one will ever top HER, but Jennifer Hudson comes pretty darn close. I think she will likely win Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars, but I don't see Dreamgirls winning Best Picture - I think that will be Babel.

But yeah...Dreamgirls rocked! (and by the way, let's not leave out Beyonce, who I thought was fantastic as well!)
