I'll give you 20 reasons why 90's music was good.
Then you give me your 20. My list is not definitive.

1. Jesus Lizard
2. Mudhoney
3. Nirvana
4. Kyuss
5. My Bloody Valentine
6. Ride
7. Curve
8. Soundgarden
9. Melivns
10. Old Roadiohead (everything prior to and including OK Computer)
11. Pixies (technically they were pretty much over by the early 90's, but their influence was strong)
12. Soul Coughing (underrated band, IMO)
13. Monster Magnet
14. Shudder to Think
15. Morphine
16. Tad
17. Sleep
18. Fu Manchu

1. Score another one for Oasis!
Noel Gallagher is my personal lord and savior. Just kidding. But not really. Or am I?

3. My top 20 would have to include Sonic Youth
Definately. What a kick ass sound. Nothing compared to American Idol of course, but still. :sarcasm: <--in case you are stupid

4. I left SY out, because I thought they did their best work
in the 80's and 00's. I think they tried too hard to get a hit record in the 90's, especially with "Goo" and "Dirty."

Actually, they're in no real order, but Mudhoney is definitely up there anyway.

3. Babes in Toyland
4. Lunachicks
5. Hole
6. Throwing Muses
7. Liz Phair
8. Ani Di Franco
9. Natalie Merchant

edit: Primus is definitely in there somewhere too.

This to me is the difference in the decades...where are all the stronge female presences in music today? They've been replaced with the human franchise like Hilton and Lohan. Shakira is about the strongest thing going right now and back then there was such an abundance of women with really tough images that were self-directed and real, not investing their body in spirit in the maintenance of a facade of hyperfemininity

and to add some men
19. Blues Traveler
20. f*cking Pearl Jam, come on, man
