My new nephew.

I'm a first-time uncle, so forgive me for bragging. He's two months old now and has just started smiling. His father, my BIL, though, was not smiling yesterday. His Eagles lost. I love the little duder and just wanted to share.

20. I used to be terrified of babies.

I was always afraid to hold them for fear of dropping them. Over the last few years, as some our friends started having kids, I got more comfortable handling them. Now, I feel like a pro with my new buddy.

My sister and BIL consider themselves "conservative". They sort of are, but aren't frothing at the mouth crazies. They're Reagan Republicans and I think they will be instilling those unfortunate values into my little buddy.

But he's got his gay uncles to show him the light so only time will tell.

My BIL recently told my sister that he's be fine if his kid was gay, as long as he isn't a Mets fan (like his unkie).
