*My husband is a very smart man*
Tonight, right after I started up our dishwasher, the lights flickered...

And went out!

The whole block went dark!

Now, we have a generator........

And it was his idea that we have one installed when we built our house...

It came on tonight, and we have power and lights, and heat!

If we hadn't had that generator........

Well, let me just say.......I would NOT be sitting here talking to all of you!

Hooray for my very smart, lovely husband!

4. My dear Southpawkicker!
I have no idea.....

But I suspect that it was the high winds we've been having lately....

I didn't bother calling the Edison people......I'm sure they're swamped!

11. It wasn't made by Baldor........
It was manufactured by Onan.......

And the lights on our block are still out......it's been over an hour...

I feel really badly for all our neighbors......

I also feel rather conspicuous....

13. Yell: "neener neener neener"
my husband is a smart man!

you could invite them all over if it gets really cold, but 40 degrees isn't really cold.

or you can bask in the knowledge of the fact that you have a smart husband and by default that means you are smart because you picked him!

:P :*

14. Now you KNOW I could never yell like that, silly!
I'm just sooooo happy that I have lights and heat and electricity!

And then I feel guilty for my neighbors........

Several of whom are very good liberal Dems like me!

He is a very good man, and I love him ....

15. He is a good man
and a smart one
and your neighbors should know this

if they see your lights, they may just think that somehow you didn't lose power, but you want them to know that it is because your husband had the foresight to have a generator backup system put in the house when it was built. That means that he is smarter than they are.

At least in that area.

Happy Friday Peggy!

17. Did you feel the same when he bought the generator?
I find it hard to appreciate disaster recovery purchases until a disaster actually takes place.

18. My dear Generic Brad......
Actually, I did not! I thought he was crazy!

But I readily admit my error.......

We've been off the grid for almost 2 hours now......

And the generator is making the difference!

21. My wife needs to take lessons from you then
I consistently defer to her on the resteraunt choices. As long as I get to be with her, I am happy anywhere she chooses. But then again, she did buy me a hand cranked flashlight in case the power goes out.....
