11. How can you hate and love it at the same time, unless
I'm obviously missing some level of sarcasm.

If it's just a twinge of depression, take a mind altering drug, and tomorrow will be better.

If it's more than a twinge, seek out people to talk with honestly about your thoughts and feelings.

If it's a big problem, seek out the assistance of those who make it their life's work to assist in this type of thing. They really can, and do, and will, help.

peace.

17. I'm better now, not in a fantastic mood but not in the frame of mind i was last night...
but I know that feeling, and those words.
People often have no idea what one goes through, and couldn't care less besides. They just berate you for being miserable and wonder what's wrong with you.
And I have no use for people who criticize those who are benefited by medication...working with emotionally disturbed kids, I can tell you that medication can be a VITAL part of regulating a kid's behavior...some can't function without them.
That's why I hate that moron Tom Cruise for spouting off about medication. He doesn't know jack shit, just what his idiot scientologist cronies fed to him.
Oh well.
I'm sorry things are so rough for you.
I know what you're going through, and you always have a friend in me.

34. Not so much the people who get into it...
I sympathize with them more than anything else, because I feel that they've been victimized. I prefer to make fun of the religion itself, with its comical beliefs, and its thuggish way of dealing with believers and enemies. Says Tom Cruise: 'If you have a problem with Scientology...well...well, fuck you.'
More or less...he actually said that.
If you're interested in the evils that gave rise to scientology, http://www.xenu.net has all the information you could ever want about them.
P.S. Scientologists aren't told about the volcanoes and the intergalactic warlord Xenu until AFTER they've given most of their money to scientology and are pretty much decimated financially.
As far as I'm concerned, it's a cult run by charlatans with a hard-on for making money hand-over-fist. They prey on the disenfranchised, the miserable, the lonely, and confused, and fill their heads with feel-good self-help garbage.

35. That's the funny part, that they don't tell you the ridiculous bullshit until you've forked over
fifteen grand or so.

Any other religion, they'll sit down with you and explain their whole belief system for FREE. All you have to do is ask.

And then those Scientologist dupes will get SO upset when you refer to them as a cult, rather than as a religion.

Aliens and volcanoes and H-bombs, oh my!

37. You ever hear of their 'fair game' doctrine?
All enemies of Scientology must be destroyed, by any means possible.
These are evil, evil people.
Unfortunately, the general public has NO idea how harmful Scientology is, and it's not like the media is helpful. At all.
And moronic celebrities like John Travolta or Tom Cruise aren't helping the situation either.

52. I'm Sorry
I can unfortunately relate to that

mine gets better, then worse, then better, then worse.

Then shit happens in life that factors into that as well.

Right now I'm in the shits, and a lot of things are not as I would like them to be. Some of that is depression. Some of that is circumstance. Some of it is poor judgment. Some of it is WTF?

But, depression sucks.

When I get to feeling good, I think there's something wrong! But there isn't. It's just how things are supposed to be.

Country Artist, Rodney Atkins, recently had a hit with a song called "If You're Going Through Hell." I didn't realize he was ripping off Winston Churchill.

That Kiley quote is excellent.

72. We're all here for each other
Honestly the Lounge, and occasional threads like this are a relief. You guys are GREAT! I felt pretty shitty when I logged on tonight, and while I'm still not feeling great I am feeling better. So, thanks! :-)

74. No,
It helps to know there are others out there that are going through similar situations. IRL, often people just don't "get it", as we discussed further up this thread. There is still a stigma attached to depression. It's easy to feel embarrassed about it and not want to admit to it. I feel better knowing that there are others out there that understand and support me. It also helps to be helpful to others. It's a good thing. :)

77. Good
I'm glad that I shared then.
I almost didn't. It was gnawing away at me. It was mostly...just looking for some attention, as sad as it sounds.
But I appreciate what I have gotten...love, support, friendship...and offer the same to all of you

87. Thanks...

Unfortunately, depression and anxiety run on both sides of my family and I ended with a double whammy...panic disorder and depression. I've got my panic attacks under control now but I haven't been as lucky with my depression. Luckily, it's never severe but it's been a constant in my life since I was about 15 or 16 years old. It's a major pain in my ass.
