Another shameless kitty thread...
Edited on Sat Jan-03-04 05:34 PM by oxymoron
I thought I would finally share my two "kids".

Fred (r) and Ethel (l) trying to squeeze onto one heated cat bed.

5. Yes, Fred is an enormous cat.
He is constantly on diet cat food and just doesn't seem to get smaller. The vet says he is very healthy and not to worry about it too much. Ethel on the other hand is very petite, but she definitely can hold her ground with Fred.

10. You know he looks like a Fred!
I wish I could hold and squeeze him, he looks so adorable!

I don't have a scanner nor do I have a digital camera so there are no pics of my beloved Tie Dye. I will describe her though. She is a calico with black fur over her left eye and orange fur over her right eye and a white nose.

Yep, she is my Ashcroft deterrent!

11. Aww, I love calicos!
Sounds like a real cutie. My Fred just loves attention. If he had his way he would be on my lap constantly. They both follow me around like dogs. They have to be in the same room with me (if not on me) all the time. They are both real lovers.

3. Your cats are so cute! I am hopefully getting one this week.
I am in contact with a few pet rescue homes. This will be the first kitty I've had in 10 years!

7. LOL
Had I known how big he would get I would have named him Bartlett (and maybe Anjou for the other).

9. Aw!! Orange kitties! I have an orange kitty!
He is a little boy, though. He would be dwarfed by your big guy. When I took mine in to the vet, she said, "Uh. . .is your cat usually this underweight?? Has he been eating OK??"

Yep. Always been a little boy, always ate and drank plenty, and always burns it off running around. He's 11 and in fine health.

12. Isn't it funny how different their personalities can be.
My Freds idea of a big night is to fall asleep in my lap. He has a purr that sounds like a locomotive.

14. Do orange kitties tend to be huge?
My mother had an orange cat (male) who weighed 26 pounds. The vet called everyone in the clinic to come see him. The vet somehow measured his skull with his hands - putting his hands around the cat's skull. He said, well this really is a large boned cat! After returning home from the awful visit to the vet (rabies shot), the big baby sat in a corner with tears in his eyes. He was a great cat.

15. It's not a requirement
Titty Boy weighs ten and a half pounds--the vet says he's small for a tomcat. He's orange.

His father Kenny, another orange cat, weighs 15.

Dale was over 20. I think it was his being gay that did it. Dale was born a black cat and died a brown cat.

Pinky only weighed 17, and he was a Manx-pattern grey tabby. He had an 80-inch vertical leap.
