Cool Dog Tricks!!!!!
My dog is superdog!

Sit (he sits)

lay down (he lays down)

stay - stay (he doesn't move a muscle)

A carrot is placed upon his nose

He doesn't flinch

I back away. He just keeps looking at me.

I say "okay!"

He flips the carrot in the air, catches it with his mouth, and proceeds to eat it.

I told you - superdog!

What does your pet do that is entertaining? I think they enjoy it too because they get so much positive attention.

1. still working on it, but
i am teaching my 3 terriers to dance in a conga line. they all stand on their hind legs effortlessly, and are working on walking on their hind legs. when competing for a treat, they do sometimes line up on each others shoulders. they love to do tricks. they go kinda crazy if their intelligence is not put to good use.

2. Well, my dog does all that except for the carrot thing.
She is not a vegetarian like me. But I'll try it with one of her doggie treats. But of course, I have to admit I took her to obedience school, where she learned to do all that stuff. No matter what I teach her though, she picks up quickly. She is a Rottweiler and Rotties rule in intelligence. Naturally, I am biased when it comes to that breed.

5. I had my wife convinced
that I had taught my boy dog how to spin around. Of course, I just noticed that every time I offered him a treat with an enthusiastic voice, he started spinning. Good dog!

Actually, the greatest thing he knows how to do is when we're out sleddoggin', and he's in lead, and we come to a fork in the trail, he knows his left and right. In German. "Links! Bodhi, Links!" I yell, and he goes left. Sometimes he'll look back at me, and I'll reinforce it with an outstretched arm, but he really gets it!

6. Our old dog
Would bring in the paper, obey commands to drop objects, and was terrified of hot air balloons. :)

Plus all the normal sit/stay/whatever.

7. good dog!
My dog gets up on her hind paws and walks like a human, one foot in front of the other. We didn't teach her this, either.

8. I say "lay down". She doesn't budge.
But if I say "lie down", she hits the dirt.
Very literate dog.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
I could NOT resist, as you can see.

9. I pretend to shoot her with a gun and say "Bang"...
And she rolls on her back and whines until I give her a treat. Not anything special, but she loves it.

I taught her that in about half an hour when she was real young. From then on, any other trick I tried to teach her always resulted in her rolling on her back and whining. She would get so excited she just glommed onto that part of the trick that got her praise and I could never teach her anything else.

I wanted to audition him for Letterman but all of my closest friends and family members talked me out of it. I have no idea why...

This is Simba, she's three and lives in Chicago. She sits, she fetches, she lays down on command...she also eats socks, undies, shoes and goes ballistic when the mailman comes daily--oh well, can't win 'em all.
