What are you looking forward to in 2007?
January is a great time for reflecting on the past year and looking forward to the year ahead. Here are some things I'm looking forward to:

- Investigations and hopefully the impeachment of Bush

- The withdrawal of all troops in Iraq before the year is done

- Moving in the spring or summer. Thinking I might go back to Maryland.

- The release of Book 7 in the Harry Potter series

- New CD releases from these artists:

The Shins
Kristin Hersh
Brie Larson
Avril Lavigne
Whitney Steele
The Affair
Madeline
John Mellencamp
Mandy Moore (we'll see if she continues her growth)
Dolores O'Riordan
Lucinda Williams
Ted Leo & The Pharmacists
New Pornographers
R.E.M.
Rilo Kiley
Tegan & Sara
Smashing Pumpkins (this should be interesting with Billy back in the band)
Fountains Of Wayne

There are more I'm thinking about and some I'm missing, for sure.

2. A few things...
Edited on Tue Jan-09-07 06:09 PM by petersond
I want to see if the Democrats will put the flames, to the feet of the W administration.

I want to see vigourous investigations of Iraq, Halliburton, and the Oil/Gas companies...

I want to see our men/women of our military, to come home....

On a lighter note...

Ghost Rider...oh yeah! Comes out to theaters in mid February, and Fantastic Four featuring the Silver Surfer, Spiderman III, Transformers, Alien vs. Predator II to name a few...

BTW, I bought some new cds the other day...

Josh Turner-Your Man...Tammy really loves this guy

Johnny Cash double cd pack named Personal File

Him-Dark Light

Wolf Mother-Wolf Mother...I heard these guys on Conan O'brien months ago...

Rob Zombie-Educated Horses...Tammy and I both enjoy RZ, ton...:)

on edit:to turn flames, into feet.

3. Did you like the Wolfmother one?
Edited on Tue Jan-09-07 05:56 PM by mvd
I haven't really liked whst I've heard, but I can't form a definitive judgment yet.

I have to build up my CD-buying money again after going on a holiday spending spree. :hi:

4. I haven't gotten them yet, I ordered
them via bmg.com....they should be here next week, or saturday....:D I heard wolf mother on conan o'brien and they sounded good to me...lead singer, has the distinctive voice, decent sound, and beatt...

I'm also interested in Death from above 1977(I think its 77, could be 79)...they were on Conan too...and Max actually got to play the drums, for a hard core song...the drummer was the singer, and Max jumped in to play the drums, so the singer could hop around and stuff....:D

5. How are bmg.com's prices? I usually order from one
of these: amazon.com, cduniverse.com, cdbaby.com, or circuitcity.com. A couple times, I have ordered from Tower's site. Cduniverse.com used to have some very good prices, but it looks like they've been raised quite a bit. I did get a good price there for an import CD: Nerina Pallot's 2005 CD Fires, which will be coming soon.

8. I got all those cds, I mentioned
for 40 bucks...so, 6 cds for 40 bucks...

the deal was, buy one at full price, get four for free...so essentially, the first one I buy(Johnny cash in this case) cost me 25 bucks(with shipping too), and the other 4 cds gots me 15 bucks.(they consider the cash cd, two cds, cause its a double pack).

I usually only go for the deals, when its buy 1, get 4 for free....the S/H is usually 3 bucks or so for the free ones...sometimes, they have their bargain bins, where I get my first cd for 8 bucks, and the rest for super cheap/or free...but the one you pay for, is the highest dollar amount cd, that you choose...so you can't choose a cd, that costs 15 bucks, and then get cds that cost more than that, for free...its all a trickle down theory with bmg.com and columbia house...

To me, its better than Target, or any local cd/music store, where the average cd costs 15 bucks...I like Hastings and used cd store, but sometimes, they charge a bit to much for used, and their selection isn't always that great...plus, I've gotten some worthless cds from Hastings, that had to be Walmart rejects...cause they were censored, and I had to bring them back to Hastings....

I usually like going to garage sales, or pawn shops, where the average price for a cd is 1 dollar....:D

18. personally, I like Columbia house better
and only because their sign up package is pretty good...If memory serves, you get 14 cds, for 25 bucks...but you agree to buy like 4 more cds at regular club prices...that intro package though, is pretty awesome....:D

25. Looking forward to:
-selling this house and moving into my OWN house.
-doing the landscaping for above house. If there is very little yard, I'll put everything in pots, I don't care.
-not thinking about the last eighteen months and the cause of my misery
-finishing school and getting a job
-finding new friends
-feeling happy again!

Movies, albums, it doesn't matter that much to me.
