Okay, it's official. This ain't right...
So I'm cooking for the last 3 hours. I've cooked up quite the spread:

Certified humane hardboiled eggs (don't ask);
Broc, steamed w/garlic;
Yellow squash, diced and fried quite nicely in an oil/soy sauce mixture;
Green beans, also in oil, dash of garlic, dash of ginger;
Carrots, in a buttery sauce with a pinch of nutritional yeast;
Tofu, fried in an olive oil/grapeseed oil mixture, tossed with peanut sauce;
Green peppers, steamed and then sauteed in a marinade that I can only describe as divine;

It's all organic and fresh. It's all for my dog. It'll last 3 days, 2 meals a day.

Me? I'm having a couple Boca-esque burgers and faux mac 'n cheeze, which, btw, I haven't started "cooking" yet.

:wtf:

He's not getting sip number one of my beer, though.

I'm SO glad that I'm the boss...

But then I thought that sounded kind of weird, so I changed my mind. :crazy:

I knew somebody once who used to do something similar, cooking up a big ole batch of food for his ancient dog. It was really quite sweet, albeit time-consuming.

I hope your dog appreciates all your efforts! :D

:hi:

His food sounds delicious, btw! Did you make enough for you, too?

Hey, I have a Ford Escort which I treat very humanely, and it'll be 18 years old this year.

Oh, my secret? I don't feed it steamed broccoli & garlic. So it's no threat to third world nations.

Do you objectively believe that post is an attack?

Now, as to your spelling: it's non sequitur and transcendent.

As to "deranged", "nonsensical" and "scattershot", I defer to your greater output and intimacy with the subject.

I suspect your appearance here has little to do with the post.

Now, don't you have anything more important to do in the next 24 business hours?

33. Yeah - The OP attacking someone for NOT attacking the OP is something.
I truly don't understand how the point about dogs in the U.S. eating better than some third-world people can be even REMOTELY considered an insult, if the words "you suck for feeding your dog so well" or similar appears nowhere in the 'attack'.

It's... bizarre.

We're currently running the gamut on meal preparation ideas for our delightful little pal, Crooks. He has one of the most awful cases of IBD I have ever seen in a cat. Poor thing is skin and bones. Our vet has suggested we try boiling lamb for him.

Me... cooking lamb? I might have to outsource this one. :)

There. Now go apologize to the poster, give your dog a nice petting, and relax with that beer! No one here means you harm. Go in peace and enjoy your evening.

43. In the end...
I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I had this one dog from when I was a toddler to age 14...we were babies together. It was hard losing her, and 11 years later, I still miss her a lot. Our dog got attacked by a pit bull last night, and though she was unharmed, it gave us a hell of a scare...
However, I still don't think the way you've acted towards me was warranted. Oh well.
Your dog seems to be in good hands. It's touching that you go to such trouble to ease its pain.

Somebody told flvegan his dog eats better than humans in poor countries. Somebody else said the eggs were better treated than people at Gitmo. Sniping ensued. WillPitt showed up, so of course somebody tried to start a fight about the Rove indictment story. There was a long argument about what comments were offensive and which weren't. Apologies were demanded, but not given.

It was stoooooooooooopid. Olive Garden stupid, even. :eyes:

Edited on Mon Jan-08-07 01:19 PM by eyepaddle
he rolled over onto a candle in his sleep--it ignited the down blanket, a nearby couch cushion, the carpeting and subfloor. I came out of my room to take a leak and was confronted by: 1) a horrible stench (burned upholstery) 2) feathers EVERYWHERE (the fire started a convection cell and spread fluffy down, as we were drunken and baked college students the down glued itself to the areas of spilled beer) and 3) COLD. (To air the place out, the imbecile tried to open a window, when the one he picked was stuck, he broke it open with a broom handle.

All 3 of these observations hit me pretty much simultanesously and I had a gargantuan "Dude What the F*ch?!?!??!?!?" moment.

Yep, this thread is a lot like that....

70. I'll tell him you said that.
"Too busy" indeed.

I hope you don't fall out of his good favor for this one...

74. So am I, but I crave meat, as chimps do at times.
The wolves your dog evolved from eat the vegetable contents in the systems of some of their prey, but it's not like they ignore the meat.
A serious question, was Einstein a vegematarian for more than the last year or so of his life?

75. You really want to do this?
Okay...

The "wolves (my) dog evolved from" might have also eaten the meat. Stipulated. However, the meat those wolves ate wasn't of the shit quality slung in dog food and supermarkets these days. Hell, had those "wolves" had the level of 'roids and growth hormone in "meat" today, they'd rule the planet. I won't bother going into the multitude of studies showing that veg*ism today is an incredibly positive, healthy alternative to the typical diet. My dog also hates the idea of fucking up the environment, a la factory farms, and he hates the inefficiency of converting a calorie of plant matter into a calorie of animal flesh for human consumption. He's pretty damn smart like that...even if he is, "only" a dog.

Next:

Einstein...I wasn't there, so I don't know. Why? Oh, and I DO hope the response is good...

You and I have posted a few, though I admit, very few polite times to each other. :rofl:

81. I do believe that
I answered it sincerely, and politely. If I didn't, or if simple perception is to blame, then allow me to apologize in advance.

Again, I don't know for how long, if at all, he was a "vegematarian" nor for what reason. Google might help you out. Don't see what that has to do with this thread, though. Seems a little...off-topic, if you will.

83. The subject came up on another of my forums. Anyway...
how often have we ever stayed strictly on topic around here? Okay, admit I nailed your soy loving butt on that one and I'll go research Einstein myself since you don't want to share. :-)

86. My "soy loving butt"
Your animosity towards me on this is not what I'd expect from you, nor any DUer.

If you don't like me, that's fine. If you don't like my choices, then that's also fine. As for "sharing" my "research" I think I was pretty clear...I wasn't there, and therefore don't know.

If you want to dance, come out and say it. I love to dance, though not so much with folks talking about "nailing (my) soy loving butt" so much.

92. As you know
this is something that I appreciate, and you and I have had some good laughs over. I still have the joke you PMd me. A favor...be a tiny bit more obvious when "nailing (my) soy butt" okay? Out of respect, I don't always take what you say as a joke in these regards.

K, 'pard? (see, I pay attention)

88. There are tales of green beans, as well.
Vile, disgusting veggies that they are.

I'm no squash fan, either, but I love my dog. He loves them, so I must love preparing them.

Ick.

Di you dislike all squash or only certain kinds? I usually put some in veggie fajitas, when I make you some am I going to have to remember to leave it out?

91. Hmm
I only dislike certain squash in certain situations.

Example: that orange summer squash, with the consistency of baby poop? Ew x 20.

Stuffed squash or acorn squash, est tres yummi!

I'll have to forward you the "flvegan squash FAQ" handout.

Ah, the silly things that escape the lips of non-parents. :rofl: That could be anywhere from "soup" to "play doh" to "pea gravel" depending on age, health and diet.

You're as picky as I am. :eyes:
