Connect yourself to Sir Francis Bacon
Edited on Fri Jan-05-07 01:58 PM by LynneSin

Sir Franis Bacon knew Queen Elizabeth I
My brother claims that our family has had ancestors from the English Royal family

There - try better than THAT!

4. Elizabeth I is supposedly my 6th cousin (many times removed)...
but that doesn't really seem like much of a connection, somehow.

5. MY GOD - we're probably related!!
BTW, that's the same family treeline that I'm related to George Bush. According to history my ancestors pissed off the king or something and we were stripped of our royal heritage

9. Meh, so could I!
I was obsessive-compulsive when I was younger. Part of the cure was not bleaching the countertops and scouring the baseboards. I'm afraid that working for you might throw me back into my neurotic state. Thanks, though, for the offer :P

10. That's not a problem - can't use bleach around me
Unless you don't mind cleaning up the puke. The smell of bleach makes me naseous - too much and I can get sick

11. Well then, you'd be the perfect employer.
I'd have to use elbow grease only to clean up the puke and grime. Lemme think about it!

8. Well, any two people who share a common ethnic origin are going to be related...
I saw an estimate that any two people of English ancestry are probably related within the degree of 20th to 30th cousin, and any two people of general European ancestry within the degree of 40th cousin...(I'm distantly related to Bush, too, but it's through his mother).

13. Indeed
I remember watching a history programme on BBC Television which stated that "it is estimated that half the population of Britain are descended from William the Conqueror."
