Cheapest way to subscribe to the NYTimes in NYC?
There's some kind of a $1 a week deal on the internets, but later the weekly rate goes way up.

Plus, I might not be able to take advantage of the Times' special deal later which might be cheaper in the long run.

Anyone care to comment?

2. I do that, but I want the actual paper in my house...
at least I want to try it again for a while.

Plus, a lot of the stuff they don't give for free on the net is what I like to read.

7. So you want to destroy trees and contribute to Global Warming

I rarely by a newspaper anymore - seems a waste when I have it on my computer

3. Hell freakin' yes I want Maureen Dowd! And all the other op Ed folks.
I get the best subscription ever: hubby brings it home from his office, which pays for it!

The only drawback is: I get it in the evening. But that's OK, for what it costs (smile).

4. Whatta deal!
I only get it on Sundays. $5.36 a shot. And if I don't get up to the store by 7:30/8 - I'm usually out of luck. :( It's just not Sunday without it.

When I lived in South America, we got the Sunday edition on Tuesdays @ the Russian Bookstore - 2 weeks late- but Dad wouldn't let us read it until the following Sunday morning.

5. I missed it when I was in Italy right at election time here!
The Int'l Herald Trib was only available in the major cities. I couldn't get it in the small towns in Tuscany and Umbria, so I was SOL. I got spotty coverage on the International CNN but not in the little hotels where the TVs non funzianno bene.
