What does the Sports Hating crowd deem better than sports?
Basket Weaving?
Poem Seminars?
Coffee at Starbucks?
Friends re-runs?
Frisbee with the dog? (Never mind, that might be to sporty)
Monopoly (never mind, too competitive and possibly to capitilistic)

Please...I gotta know... What could possibly be better than watching the great game of American football?

3. loads of things.
playing music.
playing online computer games.
talking to people about things other than sports.
watching things other than sports.
actually playing the sport.
cleaning up.
calling your grandma.
learning something.

while i can appreciate playing sports, i don't get into watching a team of people who have nothing in common besides where their paycheck comes from try and beat another team of people who get their paycheck from a different source.

now here is my idea for good football....

take all the teams and make two big huge teams and put them on a huge field that will take days to cross and then let them play football.

20. HeHe like George Carlin
Take all 60 players on each side, put em on the field at the same time, and eliminate the rules. Then you'll see some REAL injuries.
lol.

Or NASCAR, where else can you go to see a 30 car pileup without actually being in one. :)

7. Music, sex, comedy, books, love, food, nature, politics....
The infinite, complex, intellectually stimulating universe of performing, writing, listening to, and writing about music, for one- at least that's waht takes up most of my time.

Remove sports and there's really not too big a hole, IMHO.

Then something tells me you have bigger issues.

But OTHER than that one:
Mowing my lawn?
Building something?
Reading?
Playing music (instrument of your choice)?
Seeing a band perform live music?
Cutting my toenails?

Pretty much anything other than watching a bunch of overpaid steakheads run after a ball on a field.

18. I prefer participating in the sports..
not sitting in a bar with a beer-gut since graduation and screaming as if I made th play just shown on TV.

I am not reliving "glory-days" I just like to play basketball, baseball and backyard football.
Why watch on TV what one can do in person.

Why watch some jackoff who got to coast in college getting "gentleman c's" simply because he can block or tackle? And they get millions for playing a fucking GAME!

makes no sense to me. I'd rather play the game than watch from the sidelines. yelling "dude we won!, we kicked ass" like all the TV fans do.

As well as I hate listening to Corporate Rock. However I love to play Sandlot Football. I also love Golf, ...Frisbee Golf that is. Hiking is great too, especially in a foreign country. I want to participate, not be a spectator.

I love the rough and tumble of politics. Especially rallies. When you root for the good guys it's not over at the end of the season.

Because we can find other ways to spend our time than sitting on our asses in front of the TV set, watching a bunch of overpaid, immature muscleheads in muddy clothes (who some people have inexplicably elevated to god-like status) beating the shit out of each other to possess a fucking ball?!

Has it ever occurred to you that perhaps YOU'RE the one who's boring?

You pay my travel and lodging expenses and a fair daily rate (average NFL players pay) and I'll be right over. I'll even bring my own shovel.

I'm willing to cover Sundays through the season and Monday nights as necessary.

When do I start?

49. I'd like to know why all of the "un-sports" things you listed are
sort of femme.

People who have active lives are bound to be in much better physical condition that you TV sports junkies. Watching big guys rough each other up does not make YOU a big, rough guy. It makes you a couch potato.

I've never understood the way so many guys will equate WATCHING sports to masculinity. It's completely passive. There's nothing manly about it.
