Go see "The History Boys"! Terrific movie!

Set in 1983 in England, about 8 boys in a public academy who are vying to get into Cambridge or Oxford, this film examines whether an education is for enabling one to have a rich, rewarding life or whether cleverness and superficiality is required (not only in getting into an Oxbridge, but in life in general). It handles the theme of homosexuality with tenderness and humor. Their female history instructor gives a wonderful lecture on how men have screwed up history and "the women followed with buckets."

See it fast if it is showing locally. This is a little gem that probably won't last long, alas, given most Americans' taste in movies.
