Ugh. Who else couldn't sleep, last night?
I COULD have slept, myself, but JackMN kept waking up and crying as though he was scared, and I couldn't get him to go back to sleep anywhere except on my chest. The little dude weighs about thirty-five pounds, and I have a chest cold. :banghead: Everytime I tried to put him down, he woke up, clutched onto me, and said, "mom! mom!" He's lucky he's so stinking cute, because I'm a zombie today. :donut:

5. Thank you, hon!
My cold is a little better today, so I'm thinking I'm on the upswing; can't really complain too much!

4. Not a great night of sleep...
A decision I had to make hurt 2 people badly yesterday, and it kept me awake...

You're a good mom, Lara.

7. I hear you there
My 6-1/2 month old son has a cold and I was up checking on him when he coughed. My daughter was recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, so I was checking her blood sugar at 2:00 this morning. Then my husband woke up at 4:00 feeling frisky. To top it off, I am 5 months pregnant, so yeah, I hear you dear on feeling exhausted.

8. I've always said that kids are cute by design because otherwise
their parents would kill them. I couldn't sleep last night either; I got in at 1:15 and lay in bed awake for hours. Now I'm exhausted and no child is to blame.

14. I had to get up last night too..not a kid though..our dog.
I thought I had his ears taken care of before we went to bed because that's the usual problem everytime there's a weather change. Apparently the damp weather got his sinus problems going too because he was up in the middle of the night with an upset tummy.

So by 4 am I laid on the couch to sleep while the dog went to sleep in the recliner. I think DH slept through it all.

I hope your cold is over quickly..and I hope you can catch a nap today. Jack's lucky to have you for his Mom.

15. I haven't had more than three hours of straight sleep
since Saturday night....

I'm going stir crazy, I am getting discombobulated and...

The cats are starting to piss me off...

On the other hand, I have been coughing so much and with such intensity that it feels as if I have done several thousand sit ups...

But I am finally making it through Gertrude Stein's The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas....

16. I slept ok, but then...
the damn cats woke me up *really* early.

Or, I should say, Spencer woke me up really early. To tell me that Riley had managed to get himself stuck in the wall (think Lassie and the well).

So then I got to cut a hole in a wooden subfloor with a kitchen knife to get the damn cat free.

And after that I was so sweaty and dirty that I had to take a shower.

Now, for some reason, I can't get back to sleep.

Damn it.

I think they make cats cute for the same reason that kids are cute!

17. I didn't fall asleep until after 3:00am, and the littlest LIW woke me at....
6:52.

Fortunately, Mr. LIW got up and saw to the needs of the kids and let me sleep for another couple of hours.

18. Aw, good man you've got, there!
MrLaraMN will get up with the kids if I ask him to, but it requires such a supreme effort (on my part) to haul his ass out of bed in the first place, that it's often just easier to get up with the little people myself.

19. Sergio does the same thing. Any idea what it could be? Mrs. ALS
...thinks he's having nightmares. Only, Sergio won't go back to sleep unless he is between Mrs. ALS and I, and playing
with her hair. It's kinda kookie. He touches her hair, and it's lights out.

23. That sounds oddly familiar-
Jack has a comfort thing with my hair, as well. He often stops running around the house just long enough to grab a chunk, sniff it, and then run off again, and when he's tired, if I'm holding him, he likes to wrap it around his hands.

24. ah
there's an answer - when you chop off your hair bring hunks of it home for Jack. :D

You might have to put it in braids or something so it doesn't get all over the house in the first ten minutes...

26. If you can't sleep at night, it's not the coffee that's keeping you awake,
it's the bunk.
