I actually had a hobo offer *ME* money today

There's this hobo by my work, I see him nearly every day on my way to the mailbox. He's a nice enough guy, (though almost guaranteed to have mental health/and/or/substance abuse issues)...very cordial and always appreciative when I give him a smoke or some loose change.

Today, I saw him coming toward me and, being as it's "tis the season" and all, I preemptively asked "Hey guy, you need a smoke?" He says: "Hey no thanks, I got some. I got some money, too. You ok? You need anything?"

I thought that was kinda cool...in a really sad sorta way. :)

4. I'm seeing this thread for the first time

and I think it's sort of cute that he offered you money. If I were in his shoes I'd hang on to my change because I'd probably be poor again tomorrow. He offered to share. That is cool!

it just reminded me for some reason of when I was in my early twenties and sometimes I'd be downtown walking and people would think I was a hooker and wave me to come get in their car.
