My sister is shopping for us at WalMart...
We agreed to meet after the holidays, as it's easier to coordinate schedules, and it gives us a chance to hit post-holiday sales.
I've told her how I feel about WalMart...that I won't set a foot in there let alone give them my money. She says, "Unfortunately, there's just no getting around it here in the Gettysburg, PA area," which is simply not true. She's a rabid thug, so I doubt she finds anything terribly unfortunate about shopping there, or she wouldn't.

Now I don't care how much she spends on us, or even if she spends anything at all. But I plan to return anything she buys from WalMart and give the money to some other business. Or maybe I should take what she offers and donate it to Purple Heart. I won't take my kid's stuff, because I wouldn't want to upset him.

I guess I'm over-reacting. I don't care.

1. Gettysburg is pretty big
She has to have other options. And, Harrisonburg is really close. That's a bit of spinning, there.

2. it's probably all she can afford but is too proud to say so
i think it's shitty to criticize someone's choice of store when it is clearly the cheapest option, we are not all equally endowed w. the ability to earn the huge sums of money required to shop in overpriced little boutiques

if you don't like walmart's, either suggest that no gifts be exchanged and take the pressure off, or quietly return the item without bitching out the relative who is probably in deep pain that she has to shop in such a place for the holidays

3. If that was the truth, I'd deserve your nasty criticism...

But it isn't.
Though, as in the numerous other times you've made a point of commenting rudely on a post, I doubt you'll say anything more about it.

4. There's a huge outlet center nearby...
And there are places in town where lightly used items can be purchased. We were never too proud to purchase things that once belonged to someone else.
