I'm in PA and I had some forsythia and magnolias blooming a couple of weeks ago. Also, the bulbs are starting to sprout green leaf tops above the soil. If this continues, we won't have spring blooms.
We do tend to have milder winters during El Nino years; but I've never seen snowdrops bloom this early; and I've never seen magnolias or forsythia bloom before March. Where in PA? Most of your state more than a full growth zone colder than here...
They recently changed the entire DC metro area to zone 7, where certain areas had been included in zone 6. That is definitely the result of global warming...
