I have the most spoiled boyfriend in the universe. I'm making his box of baked goods tonight.
So far we've got:

Two dozen peanutbutter oatmeal dog treats
One dozen brownies
Two dozen white chocolate macadamia nut cookies (and if anybody wants to know how on earth I make these vegan, it's in my journal)
One loaf of pumpkin pecan bread

The box lid won't fit.

I want to make two dozen or so chocolate chip cookies and some oatmeal fudge cookies, but I need to scrounge up a bigger box.

PS I burnt my hand on the oven element pulling that pumpkin bread out. Love hurts.

2. Really.
I had to make a recipe up because the now rather lopsided one is on a special diet, and I didn't want him to feel left out by having something different from the rest of the furkids (which is goofy, he cooks special for that dog and he eats better than I do.) Oh, and I made their treats first and then got started on his. Priorities, you know. ;)

Last year I spent two days trying to find a dog biscuit cutter that wasn't too big for the smaller dogs or too small for the big ones. :eyes:

3. You crack me up.
Although, I did read the diet he has for the now rather lopsided one and yes, the dog does eat better than I do. I am eating better now, since I started working at the health food store again. Lots of yummy vegan food everyday.

And the dog biscuit cutter thing is just hilarious. I mean, couldn't he just break them in half for the smaller dogs. We feed our dog big biscuits (75lb lab), but when we watch my step-granddad's mini poodle, we just break them in half. It's not like the dog cares what the shape is.

4. I won't tell you how much time I spend wondering at the oddness of bone shaped vegan biscuts.
I think odd thoughts sometimes.

5. That's right up there with...
"Are vegan animal crackers really vegan? I mean, you're biting the heads off animals."

6. There is a very old thread in the tofu ghetto with me wondering why my son's vitamins are shaped
Edited on Thu Dec-21-06 01:33 AM by LeftyMom
like animals. It's just a bit weird to see a vegan kid eating elephants and lions, so I thought perhaps they ought to be shaped like fruits and veggies. :) I wondered if that was an odd thing to think about, until flvegan pointed out that at least they aren't shaped like Fred Flintstone. That was definitely stranger than my thought.

7. I take the absolute BEST kids vitamins.
They make a multi-vitamin version, but I buy the Vitamin C & Echinacea ones.

Picture this:

A cherry-flavored echinachea lollypop AND Vitamin C POP-ROCKS to dip the lollypop in.

Fucking awesome.

9. Nah, he'll stick it all in the freezer and ration himself.
I wish I had self-control like that.

11. He's a good lad then.
I have kids who negate the need for willpower. Once the cookies are out of the freezer, I have two days, tops, to eat what I want and then they're gone.

You're a good girlfriend, LeftyMom. And the fact that you bake, that's just icing on the cake!

10. You So Do Not Know What Spoiled Is
I do all the shopping for mine and do all his cooking for the week (usually on Sunday). I make his bank deposits and provide him with cards and stamps when needed. If it's not fun to shop for, I'm the one getting it. And I don't mind a bit because he does just as much (more, really) for me!
