So there's been a shooting just down the street....
...maybe a couple of hours ago. It was on the 11 o'clock news. And I have to let my dogs out. I'm picturing a crazy gunman ready to duck into an open back door.

Bah. I hate living in the city!

when I lived out in Sacramento...hmm, it was rather unpleasant some nights.

2. A woman was stabbed to death pretty close to where I live.
It's never happened so close to me before.

3. I never worry about criminals at my home.
I am smack dab in the middle of 15 rural acres surrounded by farmland. Six dogs on watch and in a worst case scenario- firearms ready to go.
In my county there have only been 5 murders in the past 5 years, 4 people in one drug deal gone bad and the other was a husband coming home unexpectedly early.
