Way to go, girlfriend! Waste my money whydoncha.
vanity time. Okay so my pals and I (were all lawyers. well, except me. I've passed the FL bar and MPRE but im still doing character and fitness evaluation so i wont be an attorney for probably 3-4 more months) were going to go to an impromptu Christmas dinner tomorrow at a local fern bar. Have some cheap eats, cheap drinks, and a few laughs. I was cool with that.

Well my girlfriend calls me at work and tells me we've been kinda obligated to go somewhere more expensive.

How Expensive? I ask..

Pretty Expensive. Think of the most expensive place you know of.

Bearns Steak House? (laughingly)

(deadpan) yep.

Me (outraged) Thats the most expensive steakhouse in the tri county area!! (i live in tampa bay)

Her: I owe you money, I'll pay for it!

Me: But thats gonna be like over a hundred bucks and thats if we just eat the steak and nothing else!

So basically my split tab 20 bucks for 4 gins and a burger and tip night just got preempted by a massively overexpensive (overpriced) dinner at a time where money is beaucoup short!

Way to think, Ms 2 year attorney! ARGH

thus endeth a useless and stupid rant. Just so you know even lawyers and lawyers to be have to squeeze every penny they can. Even when I am making better money I am afraid I will still be this way. I dont want my girlfriend to pay for it though because it offends my sensibilities as a man.
Bah.

Okay ill shut up now.

1. Just say that you won't be going and leave it at that.
She had no right to obligate you to a visit to the restaurant without consulting you
