I Need Some Advice- Post It Here- I'll Give You Chocolate-or...
whatever seems reasonable these days for advice in the lounge...

just leave me some advice about whatever you think I might need advice about.

It will be a sociology experiment for me to see what kinds of things people come up with.

Or not.

45. Don't ever expect someone else to be responsible for the birth control.
It doesn't matter if she "told you she was on the pill", or if he "said he was using a condom". You are the ONLY person you can completely and totally trust. If you don't personally make sure that you're using effective birth control, then you have nobody to blame but yourself for the consequences.

/end random senseless "parental-type" advice :)

71.  It has always worked for me
and quite a few kids I shared it with. Once you realize that it comes from with in and that those that you did not know before did not control how you felt about yourself before did not matter you take away their power to matter after they you meet them. My poor DH has taken a bit to realize that. I am a second wife in a family that thought the DH was terrible for leaving the first. My attitude was fuck 'em I was fine before I knew 'em and I will be fine in spite of them. Now they are left trying to figure out why he is so happy and could care less what they think. If you base yourself on others you will always be short but if you base yourself on what you believe you will always be ahead. It really does come from with in.

The other advice to remember is:

Bad behavior is no secret.

AND

There are always consequences for choices made. Some are good and some are not so good. So think about your choices.

84. Don't drive on the beach at night in a two-wheel drive vehicle
drinking a gallon of vodka between two people, especially if you're only 20.

When you get stuck (which you will), either don't call the cops at all or don't FORGET you called the cops.

Don't break into a nearby construction site and steal a bulldozer and a gravel truck and wreck them by jumping them off dunes into wetlands, crushing endangered plants and animals in the process.

Finally, don't steal the excavator and drive it to the beach in order to free your own truck. The cops you called earlier will be sitting there waiting for you when you arrive, and they won't be in a hurry to help you get your own truck out of harm's way when the tide comes in and starts rolling it.

Words to live by.
