After months of a dry spell, I now have two fantastic jobs!
The first one I got about three weeks ago. I announced it here. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=5884106

Basically, I work from home as an Educational Consultant on curriculum and teaching strategies for families who have to home school for various reasons. It is a public charter school, so they are held to the same state standards and secular curriculum, but must school at home for a variety of reasons.

Well, I have had a second job at a tutoring center that is completely out of control. The owners have never spent one days of their lives in education (one was an engineer and the other an accountant.) Their hearts are in the right place by opening a non-profit tutoring center, but their brains are missing. There is no structure, the kids runs wild, they have an incredible turn over rate simply because their staff thinks they're idiots- me included. I have been looking for something else, but it's hard with my full time job.

About two years ago, I had dropped off a resume at a language academy. They serve college undergrads and grads who need to be fluent in English. They give TOEFL classes, private lessons, conversation classes and some formal classes as well. They are an accredited post-secondary institution. Suddenly, out of the blue, I get a phone call. I go in and I basically already had the job. The director had wanted me to teach the formal class, but the hours conflict with my full-time job. I will, however, be teaching a TOEFL class, a conversation class and a few private lessons. I will be making slightly more an hour, I will have my sanity and this will allow me to be more marketable to Community Colleges, which is where I would really like to teach someday.

Finally. It's been a rough couple of years for me and frankly, it is my time, baby, my time!

2. Thank you!
I do love it and it's nice to actually be employed in it, as well. I realize that not everyone can be in this position, so I don't take it for granted.
