2. That makes me sad.
I was watching 'While You Were Sleeping' just yesterday. He played the dad in that movie.

Loved him in 'Young Frankenstein' too!

I must have watched that scene a dozen times and I still do a spit take.

Rest in peace, Peter.

8. He also played Frank Barone in "Everybody Loves Raymond"
Funny Peter Boyle story. Before he was an actor, he used to be a Christian Brother in the Catholic Church (not a priest but part of the clergy). He taught math in the Catholic boys high school my dad attended.

That's my favourite role of his, anyway.

11. Here's a clip of his famous song-and-dance from Young Frankenstein
Rest in peace, Mr. Boyle. You made me laugh, which I think is the nicest thing that can be said of someone.

7. That's sad.
He had really started looking kind of feeble during the last season of "Everybody Loves Raymond". I wondered then if the heart problem he had would shorten his life. I always loved his acting.

12. "Don't you get it, son? Don't you understand?
You're a homicidal maniac, that's why you do the things you do!" (explaining to a killer in the XFiles the killer's motivation - the killer couldn't understand why he did what he did, and Boyle's character explained it to him).

But I thought the lines were more apt for *

Anyway -- apparently he and John Lennon were best friends - Lennon was the best man at Boyle's wedding.

Sad - I really liked him. I hope he rests in peace.

36. I am SO GLAD that other people remember that sketch
I may be an SNL snob since I was a college kid when SNL first appeared on the tube -- back when dinosaurs roamed the earth!

So much great stuff from that Golden Age of SNL. The "Dueling Brandos" to the music of "Dueling Banjos" was one of the greatest moments in the whole history of SNL. If you love vintage Brando and if you love John Belushi and Peter Boyle -- and I do -- that bit will just about have you laughin' and pissin' in your pants at the same time!

We lost Belushi -- then Brando -- now Peter Boyle. It's so sad. I was definitely NOT ready to lose Peter Boyle.

Peter Boyle was just SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH! Everybody Loves Raymond. Yellowbeard. You name it. Always great. He'll be sorely missed.
