1. I second that--WTF?!
Seriously, what were they trying to do with that?

7. I actually like it
and I'd like it more if there were no vocals.

I just dont understand why people hate this one so much after Load and Reload, two of the most excremental CD's to come down the pike in a long time

3. I bought a CD by a band called "Saduharu"
because the cover is a grainy photo of old black jazzer-looking guys , one on sax, one on drums, and a dude who loooks jkinda homeless screaming into a mike. I thought, shit, this looks interesting.

Then I turned over the CD and saw some of the song titles: "It's not Paranoia if They're Firing Real Bullets," etc. and noticed it was on a hardcore label. I was psyched! Old black jazz cats playing hardcore with political lyrics! This was gonna be awesome!

Then I took it home, opened up the shrinkrap...and noticed that the band photo within featured young white kids with trucker caps on and tight T-shirts.

Oh shit.

THen I played the damn thing....and realized I'd been taken for a ride. The music was standard shitty Screamo, nothing anyone with ears would get excited about....amelodic screaming with dumb lyrics about relationships. I'm glad I kept the receipt.

Feh!

5. I did a good job of avoiding bad CDs this year

Metallica's sounds average.

There are the usual suspects, but I haven't heard all these albums in full:

Hilary Duff has the looks but not the musical talent. Metamorphosis is not a promising album.

Justin Guarini's CD sounds terrible - probably an F. No wonder it tanked.

Clay Walker, Mark Wills, Toby Keith and Billy Ray Cyrus returned with bad country albums.

Sounds like Limp Bizkit, Puddle Of Mudd, and KoRn hit new lows.

t.A.T.u.'s album sounds worse with each listen.

Joe's And Then...

Jessica Simpson returned with a stale In This Skin.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs have no sense of melody and don't even make glorious noise IMO.

Monica's After The Storm

Linkin Park's Meteora

Evan Dando - Baby I'm Bored (yes, he sounds it)

Train's My Private Nation - went too far into being radio-friendly

Anything released as "American Idol."

Jet - Get Born (his voice is so annoying)

Ja Rule - Blood in My Eye

I like Rod Stewart's non-recent stuff a lot, but he doesn't get it right on As Time Goes By...The Great American Songbook: Volume II.

8. Toby Keith- Shock And Y'all
I went home for Christmas and discovered that my favorite little Italian restaurant/bar (in an affluent area) had been taken over by rednecks. Although I didn't realize it at the time, I was treated to the entire "Shock And Y'all" CD being played on the jukebox. I remembered some lyrics about "men in turbans hiding in caves" or something like that and Googled when I got home to find out it was him. The songs were actually hilarious, but I'm sure they were intended to be very serious. My father and I laughed out loud at a couple of the songs. We found the lyrics to "I Love This Bar" to be rather ironic at the time.
