Oregon: A sad ending for the search of missing SF Man.
Edited on Thu Dec-07-06 02:37 AM by Cascadian
I am sure this had already been mentioned somewhere on DU but I only found out when I came home from school tonight. Rescuers found the body of San Francisco resident James Kim in the Oregon wilderness. Kim and his family had been missing since November 25th. His wife and two daughters were found alive. Apparently, they took a wrong turn and ran out of gas. The story is all on the website of Portland TV station KGW.

Apologies if this had already been posted but I was moved by the story and my deepest condolences go out the their family and friends.

2. I saw KTVU (Oakland) 's coverage online last night.
It was very touching to see San Franciscans come together outside James Kim's family store to pay respects. I am also happy to see that a fund is being set up to help Kim's surviving family. There is a lot of love and caring being shown and I think James' widow and two little girls will be well taken care of in their trying time. I did not know him but it seems like James was a wonderful guy and he has a beautiful family. I think in his final hours he did his best to keep his family safe and he paid an ultimate price for it. It brings it all into prespective to how precious life really is.

4. A friend of mine in San Francisco is friends with this family.
She said he was the kindest, gentlest man you'd ever meet. It is tragic.

5. Once again...I send my thoughts.
It always seems like the good always have to die young. It doesn't seem right to me.
