6. I've always wondered if the Bangles got their 'Walk Like An Egyptian'
idea from this film.

7. I think my kid is about the right age to read the book
and watch the film. Except he would probably ask where the colors are... since it's black and white, right? ;)

9. Heh. My kid is only five...
but he's managed to figure out that black-and-white = OLD. :)

12. My kids watched it with me.
We stopped it a few times for discussions. I forgot how heavy it can be in places. They enjoyed it though. They liked that it was children "behaving" like children and not children acting like little adults.

One of my kids favorite movies is Harvey with Jimmy Stewert so they are used to black and white films.

13. I turned it onto my kids quite a number of years ago,
and although they resisted...once they started watching they loved it. Now, even with everyone grown and gone it continues to be a family favorite.

One of those GREAT books, if not one of the greatest....and the movie is just as good as the book.

Best quote - "You never really know a man until you stood in his shoes and walk around in them." Atticus Finch

18. I first remember seeing it when I was around 11 or 12
I was spending the night at a friend's house and she had her own TV set in her room -- this would have been around 1968 or 1969. Anyway, I'm not sure why but for some reason we thought the title sounded intriguing so we watched it. I still remember the two of us being absolutely flabbergasted when Tom Robinson was found guilty. My friend even cried over it. I think I read the book a few months later.

It's funny because it's not a children's book per se -- that is, it wasn't written for a child audience, but I would venture to guess that many people read it before they hit high school.
